The 32 foot Innovator Hook Up was totally rennovated in 2005 and has become a favorite sport fishing boat with anglers coming to Cabo San Lucas. We added a brand new Pompanette fighting chair, transom built-in bait tank, all new cushions inside and out and new sun protecting bikini. No Doubt About It, our California 29 Sport Fishers, the Hook Up I and Hook Up Too! are the favorites in Cabo San Lucas partly because they are chartered at a most reasonable cost; however mostly because they are fast, comfortable and can catch the big ones. Smaller sized, and equipped with a single crew making them quieter, our Mucho Bueno and Hook Up I still have the bigger boat feel, especially when Hooked Up! The large cockpit easily allows two or more anglers to be on fish. In fact 2 to 4 anglers are the perfect match for these 29 footers.

Note: Because of the ever rising cost of fuel we must now add a $25.00 Fuel Surcharge per boat per day.

All Hook Up Charter Boat Costs Include the Hook Up Charter Boat with crew, all tackle, the Mexican Dispatch Fee, a Required 10% Mexican Tax, 12 FREE Drinks of your choice plus 1-FREE Hook Up T-Shirt per boat per day.

All Hook Up Charter Boat Costs Does Not Include a Mexican Fishing License that anyone on board needs, whether fishing or not, unless you are under the age of 13, ( $13.00 per person), food and a crew gratuity usually 15-20%.

In Using Credit Cards for Charter Boat Payment a 5% Processing fee shall be added. We suggest, after your deposit has been paid and applied to your Charter that you pay the balance in US Dollars by Cash or Travelers Checks at our office when you arrive in Cabo San Lucas or at arrival at the boat at the docks. Personal Checks will not be accepted.

What To Expect

Your Fishing Day

It's a great idea after arriving in Cabo to check in at our Downtown Cabo Hook Up Office. Here we will know you have arrived, can confirm your trip and answer any questions you might have. Should this not be convenient then on your day of fishing go to the "Main Dock." Any taxi driver will know where this is and will drop you off at the weigh station. Proceed down the marina boardwalk to Gate 3 where you'll find our boats.

Arrive at the dock by 6:30 AM and one of our staff will meet you. Fishing day times are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Fishing License

Mexican Law requires that anyone boarding a Charter Boat, whether fishing or not, must be in possession of a valid Mexican Fishing License It can be purchased as a daily, weekly or yearly. Children under 10 years old do not need the license. The license cost is: DAILY -- $12.00 per person purchased the day of fishing, WEEKLY -- $25.00 per person and must be reserved ahead. The Mexican Fish and Game office is right next door to our office; so it is very convenient to obtain your license. YEARLY -- $50.00 per person. It's a good idea to purchase if you plan to be in Cabo or Mexico more than once a year.

Food and Beverages

Each Hook Up Charter includes FREE 12 drinks of your choice. This includes bottled water, soda or beer in any combination. For any extra drinks, snacks or food please bring your own. Usually all hotels offer box lunches for fishermen. Many restaurants will prepare a lunch to go or shopping is easy at local grocery stores.

Live Bait

Bait in Cabo is purchased from the bait pangas as you leave the dock in the morning. Live bait is essential, especially for the Marlin and Tuna fishing, and we suggest at least 10 baits. The cost per bait is $2.00 and you pay this directly to the bait boat. Your captain, depending upon how the fishing has been, can suggest how much bait to buy.

Your Catch

First, we strongly suggest that Marlin Are Not Killed! Hook Up is a Member of The Billfish Foundation and the IGFA and, like them, we believe in their preservation. The captain and deckhand will help you to get a great picture if you like. When your charter day ends and you bring fish back to the dock there are people there who will, for a fee, clean and package your catch.

Gratuity

The usual tip for the crew is 10-15% of your charter boat cost. However, as in a restaurant, the amount is completely dependent on how your experience was with the crew. The experience, adventure, and crew's willingness to hook you up always dictates the gratuity decision.
